Thanks
for visiting! I have been fascinated with the arts all
my life. I first started painting in acrylics during the
summer after my freshman year in high school. I devoted
some time to take classes in freehand drawing, as well
as studio art. Experimenting with different types of media
was the greatest advantage in taking these classes. My
interest with oil paints emerged while watching instructional
art programs on TV during school vacations, but it was
only after graduating from high school in 1996 that I
began painting in oil.
I
first created and experimented with this website in 1997
during my freshman year in college to showcase my new
oil paintings. Although I only seem to update it when
I complete new works of art, which is rather infrequently
now, the website has gone through a number of changes
over the years. I'm in the process of expanding my photography
section.
These
days I am a full time graduate student working towards
a PhD in Engineering. My research
involves designing new microfluidic platforms. I was previously
employed at a pharmaceutical company in South San Francisco
for four years. I have no plans to start a career in art,
but I will always pursue it as a hobby and side interest.
Although the bulk of my paintings have been landscapes,
I am anxious to start painting figures, portraits, and
still life. I hope to eventually study classical painting
in detail, and especially the early Flemish and Italian
oil painting techniques. Once I have finished my studies,
I hope to find more time to do art.
I
certainly hope you enjoyed browsing through these Web
pages. If you would like to contact me, please feel free
to E-mail me.
