Alpha Phi Omega is a National Coed Service Fraternity. It is the
largest student service organization in the United States and teaches
its members how to be better leaders while dedicating themselves to
community service. I originally was a member of the gamma
chapter at Cornell University, located in section
89. In my senior year, I served as vice president of service and
was awarded a Chapter Distinguished Service Key. I remained involved
with Alpha Phi Omega in California as advisor of the gamma
gamma chapter at the University of California, Berkeley and as a
member of Section 4 staff. I served as section 4 chairperson for over
2 years. Section 4 includes northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
Currently, there are 11 chapters in section 4 although we are in the
process of growing. For more information on Section 4, see the
Section 4 Home Page. I was
very proud to be awarded a Section 4 Distinguished Service Key in
1998.
Everything you would ever want to know about Alpha Phi Omega is located at the Official Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity Web Site. For information on how to become involved with Alpha Phi Omega, you may contact me by e-mail. {disclaimer}
I currently serve as a member of the Region X Staff. Below is a picture of staff members taken at the Section 4 conference at Stanford in March, 1999. Beth Tom is the Regional Director.
