Read this file before doing anything. This bookmark/favorite conversion system has been working very well for me, but I can't garantee the same will go for you, so use it at your own risk... Also, I personally don't care about the "last accessed" and "last modified" info (it's an invasion of privacy, even) so I didn't bother converting it: it just gets trashed in the destination file(s). Requirements: Windows95, the Perl interpreter perl.exe and its run-time library perl100.dll, the 2 perl scripts bookmark.pl and favorite.pl, and their 2 driving DOS batch files bookmark.bat and favorite.bat. To make this system work for you, you'll need to edit the DOS batch files to reflect the location of your own favorite and bookmark directories, and you should back up your existing files just in case. Set up shortcuts to the DOS batch files in Win95's start menu (I have included some icon files to make it look nicer), and set them to run "minimized" (it makes it look more seamless). mailto:binard@california.com for questions and feedback.
